In Japan, waiting in line patiently is very normal. Most restaurants have a list outside to write your own name and how many people are in your party, then you sit and patiently wait until your party is called.
We chose to eat at Hero’s Steakhouse our 1st night in Tokyo because I really wanted an authentic Wagyu steak! It is located on the 3rd floor of the Sunshine City Mall in Ikebukuro Tokyo.
They have menus available in English and Japanese. American country music was played Niall’s were covered with “Western” decor like signs and license plates.
The Japanese Wagyu was available in 4 different sizes, I got the 200g which is a little less than 8 ounces and it was plenty.
Garlic cheese toast was the appetizer.
Hubby got the steak and chicken combo with the sides which included rice, salad, and soup.
The entrees included a pasta, broccoli and corn medley which went perfectly well with the flavor of the steak.
The steak cook options were rare, medium rare and medium. I got medium and seared it just a little more on the hot plate it came on. The steak was delicious seasoned and it came with a choice of sauce to put on top. We chose the green onion.
The two most popular sodas in Japan are Coke and Ginger Ale. Every restaurant has at least these two options. I opted for the Ginger Ale which came with ice. All the sodas in Japan tasted refreshing and crisp, no flat drinks here!
We would definitely go back. 2 steak dinners for around $64 USD (9462 yen)?!
